APRA Nomination

Daniel Johns snagged two major nominations for this year’s APRA awards. Young Mondern’s hit single, “Straight Lines” is up for the Song of the Year and Most Played Australian Work awards. Although Johns has been nominated in the past, he has never won an APRA award. This year might be his first APRA achievement!

The award ceremony will be taking play in Sydney on Monday, June 16th.

Possible Chair Gig?

Silverchair fans in the Caloundra area might be in for a sweet surprise.  There have been rumors of a possible Silverchair gig at soon to be opened Caloundra RSL Sunshine Coast Function Centre.

Nothing is confirmed, but according to the article in thedaily.com.au things are looking bright for the show.

One of Daniel’s guitars (the burned out one from the last Across the Great Divide Show) is up for the Icons of Music auction to benefit U2’s The Edge’s charity Music Rising.  The auction will be held May 31, 2008 at the Hard Rock Cafe in NYC.
