Turnback Thursday
Welcome to the first edition of Turnback Thursday. Turnback Thursday is a day where we will revisit the ‘Chair boys in their earlier years and marvel about how much our boys have grown up over the years. Like always, if you have something you would like to submit for the next edition of Turnback Thursday, or for the blog in general please email me with your submission.
Today’s edition of Turnback Thursday will focus on not so distant Diorama. I know that most of you long time ‘Chair fans probably already own the DVD portion, or at least have watched parts of this on the bonus feature that was included on the Diorama album but it is nice to take a bit down memory lane, and perhaps some brand new fans haven’t yet been introduced to this awesome “Making of” experience.
- The Creation of Diorama: Part One
- The Creation of Diorama: Part Two
- The Creation of Diorama: Part Three
- The Creation of Diorama: Part Four
- The Creation of Diorama: Part Five
- The Creation of Diorama: Part Six
- The Creation of Diorama: Part Seven
- The Creation of Diorama: Part Eight
Also, from the 2002 Aria’s, the band receives their second (out of 6) awards.
That’s all for today’s edition. Hope you enjoyed your little trip back in time.

Tunesday Tuesday
G’day! Today officially kicks off the first edition of Tunesday Tuesday. Yes, I did attempt to do this last week, but that was just a practice run…just me playing around with some ideas and getting the feel of how I should format these posts.
Today’s edition starts off with some submissions by reader Travis who recently attended the September 8th show in Sydney and recorded a couple of clips:
Without You, Israel’s Son (I never get tired of that song, especially the intro). He also submitted Black Tears by Powderfinger which I am including as I think it’s a great recording and I am also a fan of Powderfinger and have yet to hear this song. Thanks for sharing Travis!
Now onward for our musical journey. Our first stop Rock in Rio (date?) to take a listen to an amazing performance of Emotion Sickness. We then go to the Big Day Out, Goldcoast 2002 where we will listen to One Way Mule, Anthem for the Year 2000, and The Greatest View. We’ll then stop in for the Newcastle gig of the Across the Night tour to take a listen to Asylum. Then at the Hollywood gig for the Across the Night Tour, circa 2003 where we will hear a couple of clips from that show. Kind of like a Silverchair concert, in under 3 minutes. Interesting concept.
That’s the end of today’s edition of Tunesday Tuesday. Check back next week for some new clips. Up tomorrow is Wacky Wednesday so make sure to check in to see what I have in store for that.
If you would like to contribute to this blog, please email me your submissions. I appreciate any and all submissions!

Feedback wanted
Now that I have a focus on this blog and have a general idea of what sort of direction I’d like to go in, I would like to hear from you, the readers. I was thinking of having, in addition to the daily round up post, a weekly feature. For example, one day I will post up an opinion piece related to something I have read or some controversial topic I’ve seen being debated (related to Silverchair of course) then the next day something else, and so on. I would like to have something like this 3-5 days a week.
So far I’ve come up with several ideas and I would like your feedback…some of the ideas will require reader participation for example…so it’s important for me to hear your opinions.
So far I’ve thought of:
- A weekly opinion piece (eg. the Paul Mac debate)
- “Bootleg Video” Day (collection of concert vids from YouTube)
- Question Day (readers submit their Silverchair questions)
- Interview a fan day (Every week I will interview one volunteer fan)
- ??? (Suggestions please!)
Please give me feedback on this, either drop me a comment on this post, or email me directly at SilverNeurotic@gmail.com. Thanks!
